From arts to sports, here are some of Charlotte’s youth summer enrichment programs


As the school year comes to an end, kids need some fun, engaging activities to do throughout the summer months. Here are some programs for students kindergarten to high school.

Carolina Kids’ Voices

Dates: Three sessions June 13-17, July 11-15, August 1-5
Where: Myers Park Baptist Church (1900 Queens Road)
Cost: $195 camp tuition plus $25 registration fee

Love music? Carolina Voices is offering three-show choir camps for kids this summer. Each session has a unique theme: Kidz’ Boppin’ Hits (June 13-17), Groovin’ to Motown (July 11 -15), and Movie Magic (August 1-5). The camps are for kids in grades 1-7.

A Better World

Dates: June 13th to July 29th
Where: 4527 Freedom Drive
Cost: Free (includes lunch and a hot meal)

The camp, for students ages 4-17, features field trips, reading, fun activities and a daily devotional. To register contact Michael Manning at 704-398-3244 or at Michael.Manning@abetterworldcharlotte.org

Camp Corvian

Dates: June 6 to August 5 
Where: Corvian Community School (4041 Johnston Oehler Road)
Cost: $198/week for full-day, and $99/week for half-day

Each week has a different theme, like “Space Week,” “Field Days” and “Christmas in July.” Weekly rates offered at both half-day and full-day day. If you register for five or more weeks, lunch is free. After and before care is available as well.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte

Dates: June 6 – August 19
Where: ImaginOn (300 E 7th St) and Charlotte Latin (9502 Providence Rd)
Cost: $160 for week-long, half-day program for ages 3-5, $290 a full-week for rising kindergarten and older.

Offer unique experiences for students ages 3 to 18 in a fun, interactive environment, where professional teaching artists lead campers in acting, singing, and dancing activities.

Central Piedmont Community College

Dates: Multiple sessions starting June 21 – July 28 
Where: CPCC Campuses
Cost: starting a $235 

CPCC’s summer camps offer experiences in art, cosmetology, culinary skills, engineering, forensics, law, and technology. Sessions are held for grades four through 12.

Town of Cornelius Parks & Recreation

Dates: June 21 – August 12
Where: Cornelius Town Hall (21445 Catawba Avenue) and Bailey Road Recreation Center (11536 Bailey Rd)
Cost: Starting at $95

The Town of Cornelius offers a variety of summer camp options for kids, ages six to 14. These options include traditional camps, summer recreational, sports and art. 

YMCA Camps

Dates: May 30 – August 28 
Where: YMCA Branch locations
Cost: starting at Member $85/week, Non-member $110/week

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte offers a variety of traditional, sports and themed day camps across their 14 branches. Ages range from two to 14. 

Nascar Hall of Fame

Dates: June 27 – August 5 
Where: 400 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28226
Cost: $250

Discover the race cars, tracks, music, and art that drive the sport. Campers will accelerate their experience with hands-on building, experiments, crafts, and physical challenges. The week completes with a digital scrapbook showcasing their camp adventures. Virtual participation is available.

Camp Invention

Dates: sessions start June 13 – July 28 
Where: Multiple locations across Charlotte
Cost: Programs start at $245

This exciting, week-long STEM summer camp provides opportunities for open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more. Grade levels range from K to sixth.

Queens University of Charlotte

Dates: June 20 – August 19 
Where: 1900 Selwyn Ave
Cost: n/a

Queens University of Charlotte Athletics offers a variety of half- and full-day summer sports camp options for children ages 5-18. The camps are designed for kids of any skill level, with an emphasis on learning proper technique and fundamentals in a fun, safe environment.  Sports include basketball, soccer, rugby, swimming and more. Full-day camp includes lunch daily.
